I came across this poem on the Internet that mentions Torin's name, as well as numerous other Hollywood figures. It's called Idiot's Delight, by Peter Balestrieri. Please click here to read the poem in its entirety.

Below is a segment from an interview between writer Tony Dalton and Ray Harryhausen that took place at the National Film Theatre on November 22, 2003. This segment describes Torin and his role in the Seventh Voyage of Sinbad:

Dalton: Torin Thatcher, let's just talk about the actors, because they're very interesting, especially in this movie. Torin Thatcher, a British actor, was wonderful.

Harryhausen: Oh yes, he kept the whole picture together, because he knew enough... he's a very experienced actor and he knew enough to play just that much over the top, to make this a fairly tale, and that's what fantasy is all about, it's a fairy tale, and I think you need over-the-top acting. Some actors, you know, that come from the method concept, they're afraid to overact. But Torin gave that magician, I think, throughout the picture, if you saw the whole film, just the right amount of over-the-top to give it that fairy tale quality.
